About Us The Gathering of Eagles is comprised of the men and women — military, civil service, and industry — who designed, developed, and fielded one of the greatest weapon systems ever built: the F-15 Eagle. Since the mid-1970s, "Eagle Hatchers" have gathered in various places around the world to celebrate the birth of the Eagle — the day the aircraft first took to the skies on 27 July 1972. This year's event will end on the day that marks the 42nd anniversary of first flight. We are pleased to welcome all alumni who have contributed to the evolution and operation of the F-15 Eagle. 42nd GOE To All F–Fifteeners As the 42nd anniversary of the Eagle's first flight approaches, make sure you mark your calendar for July 25–27.
